Chinese 19th Century Red Lacquered Sideboard With Gold Chinoiserie Patterns

About

A Chinese red and black lacquered sideboard with gold chinoiserie patterns from the late 19th century. This Chinese 19th Century lacquered wood sideboard showcases typical gold Chinoiserie patterns. The buffet features four doors opening to reveal two shelves for great storage possibilities. The top and sides of this sideboard are covered with a black lacquer, which nicely contrasts with the red lacquered front. The door panels and the bottom rail are adorned with pleasant scenes made of Chinese characters, painted in gold in a typical Chinoiserie style. Delicate golden flowers decorate the side posts. This late 19th century Chinese lacquered sideboard would bring out an uncommon and exotic touch to any home, perhaps placed in a living or dining room or bedroom and would no doubt be a tremendous conversation starter.
