About the Item

This is a large French sideboard completely in Art Deco style with a very luxurious look from the 1930s. Let's start with the wide foot. This is finished with piano lacquer and is slightly curved so that it comes off the ground in the middle. Two large spacers have been placed on top of this and are more oval in shape. These parts are each decorated with two brass bands. The foot also has a brass strip for decoration at both ends. The storage part of the cupboard part, just like the foot, follows the principles of Art Deco. Sloping and stylized lines predominate here, combined with an exuberant use of very exclusive types of veneer. The four doors are veneered in rosewood and all have a brass lock and matching key. The five drawers are finished in dark burl wood veneer and the lines are being created with oak inlays. The rectangular handles of the drawers are also made of brass. On the sides and the margins next to the doors, we see a finish with Zebrano veneer. This has a somewhat coarser character than rosewood. After opening the doors, a huge space emerges and shows an interior entirely made of oak. This eye-catching size sideboard is in very good condition as it is fully restored in new piano lacquer.
