About The Designer :
Robert Heritage designed the "Hamilton" sideboard for Archie Shine, earning a prestigious Design Centre Award for the piece in 1958. Renowned as a leading figure in British design, Heritage collaborated extensively with Archie Shine, a cabinetmaking firm instrumental in introducing Scandinavian design influences to Britain during the late 1950s and 1960s. Much of Heritage’s work for Archie Shine was sold through the iconic furniture retailer Heals.
About the Manufacturer :
Archie Shine was a prominent British furniture manufacturer known for producing high-quality, design-led pieces during the mid-20th century. Founded in the 1940s, the company rose to prominence in the 1950s and 60s, playing a key role in introducing and popularising Scandinavian modernist influences in British furniture design. Collaborating with celebrated designers like Robert Heritage, Archie Shine became synonymous with craftsmanship, innovation, and elegant simplicity, with many of its pieces retailed through prestigious stores such as Heals.

Large Vintage Robert Heritage Mid Century Teak, Afromosia and Sapele sideboard
By Archie Shine, Robert Heritage

As regards storage, there’s a lot on offer. The sideboard has 4 large drawers with beautifully detailed handles and with stylised ribbed fronts – and then there are two sets of doors which reveal two large two tier storage...
