About the Item

Rare and highly collectable sideboard designed in Italy by Umberto Mascagni of Bologna. Cabinet sideboard with four doors and four drawers from the 1950s was realized with back-stained glass doors, four doors with a woman walking down the stairs. The main body structure is made of solid European wood and is very heavy. This piece features a cream colored vinyl with anodized aluminium. The exterior and interior of the wardrobe are lined with faux black 'lizard skin' leather and with patterned grey vinyl. Even the legs are over! Very attractive, very capacious furniture, excellent vintage condition! Glass top to protect the vinyl. This extravagant belief or bar cabinet is an interesting example of midcentury Italian design. In 1952 Umberto Mascagni created a new way of producing furniture using new materials such as PVC and anodized aluminium. This was provocative considering the market at that time. His furniture was sold by Harrod's, London 1952-1955. This piece has an extra adjustable mirror for an extra, very rare effect!
