About the Item

A stunning and extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XV st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, and ormolu cabinet vitrine attributed to François Linke. The two door cabinet is raised by elegant cabriole legs with superb pierced fitted foliate ormolu sabots and a lovely fillet which extends up each leg and along the beautiful scalloped shaped apron. The base displays an exceptional and most decorative bombee shape with wonderfully executed and intricately detailed foliate marquetry inlays framed within a fine wrap around foliate ormolu band. Above each leg are striking scrolled foliate ormolu mounts with beautiful richly chased details and a wonderful satin and burnished finish. The doors each retain their original glass pane framed within an additional striking wrap around foliate ormolu band and which opens to reveal 3 glass shelves, the upholstered interior and all original hardware. The sides also display their original beautiful curved glass panes framed in the same manner. The majestic top crown displays a remarkable arbalest shaped movement centered by a magnificent and most impressive ormolu foliate reserve. François Linke (1855-1946) Renowned 19th Century Parisian Ébéniste. Linke created historical interpretations of Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. He was displayed at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1900 where he received a gold medal.
