About the Item
A stunning antique lacquered chinoiserie wardrobe. This was made in England, it dates from the 1900-10 period.
It is of wonderful quality and is a great size, offering lots of storage space. The lacquered chinoiserie decorations are stunning, this has wonderful all round patina.
There is a mirrored central door, the right hand section contains shelving and internal drawers, the left hand section is double width, with a horizontal hanging rail, coat hooks and also a large shelf at the top.
This is in very good all round condition, with some minor marks surface wear to be seen here and there. We also have the matching dressing table and chest of drawers that came with this, seen listed under our other items for sale.
This breaks down into five pieces for ease of transport. Originally it would have broken down into four pieces, but the previous owner has had the large double section on the left cut in half down the middle, so it is actually much easier to move than it would have been. When set up it is still all sturdy and as structurally sound as it would have originally been.
