Magnificent and ultra rare Art Deco Modernist armoire or wardrobe. Design by Hendrik Wouda for H. Pander & Zonen Den Haag. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak base with original black lacquered knobs on the drawer. Behind the door with the original mirror you will find four original wooden shelves, adjustable in height. Original lock and key in good working order. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher in your home or office. Please note that this armoire or wardrobe cannot be dismantled! We will ship this exceptional piece of furniture in a custom made wooden crate for safe transport when purchased by overseas buyer!.The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco armoire or wardrobe by Hendrik Wouda for H. Pander & Zonen Den Haag is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
