About the Item

Magnificent two-door folk armoire from the late 18th-century with original hand-painted decoration. The doors feature ornate, scalloped cartouches with floral motifs set against a dark background, framed by vividly patterned geometric panels. Richly adorned sides and base zone. The cornice is inscribed and dated 1792. A characterful example of Southern German rural Baroque furniture craftsmanship.
