About the Item

Late 18th Century Walnut Armoire from Central Germany Provenance: Collection of Dr. Emil von Haber, Royal Physician to King Wilhelm of Prussia This exquisite two-door armoire, crafted in Central Germany in the late 18th century, is a remarkable example of fine cabinetmaking in walnut. The doors are decorated with bookmatched, mirror-symmetrical walnut veneers, framed by a gracefully arched and stepped cornice. The piece stands on turned bun feet and features a refined key escutcheon inlaid in ebony, adding a subtle touch of elegance. Its architectural presence is matched by its provenance: formerly part of the private collection of Dr. Emil von Haber, personal physician to King Wilhelm of Prussia. This exceptional origin lends the piece not only artistic value but also historical significance.
