Italy, Tuscan center table or writing table from the XVIII century

About the Item

This precious center table/desk in walnut root with maple wood inlay on a black background was made in Tuscany (Italy), around the mid-18th century. Its rectangular shape has a so-called "tray" top as it is surrounded by a border higher than the top itself. The corners of the top are shaped. In the center of the walnut top we find the inlay of a parrot enclosed within flowering racemes. On the front, a small drawer is inserted into the band under the top. The four legs are sabre-shaped, typical of Louis XV. It is precisely the conformation of the four legs and the indistinguishable design in which the foot of each of them ends that determines, obviously also taking into account further elements, the Tuscan stylistic hallmark of this table. The perfect finish of the table on each side allows you to use it even in the center of a room. This table can also be used as a desk and can be easily inserted into any environment, from the living room to the study, from the entrance to the bedroom.
