About the Item
High Quality Erwin Gruen Hand-Forged Wrought Iron Gilded Coffee Table. In the manner of French 40's wrought iron design such as Gilbert Poillerat and Raymond Subes.
Erwin Gruen, born in Berlin, Germany in 1918, renowned iron worker, Erwin Gruen immigrated to Chicago in 1951. After apprenticing at A&E Forge, he purchased property at 226 West superior, which became his workshop and art gallery where he helped pioneer the ''River North'' gallery district. His superbly crafted hand-forge, wrought iron furniture was sought after by Chicago's finest designers.
This table comes with a beautiful thick piece of glass (not shown). Will need to confirm exact dimensions including the height.
