About the Item

Vintage 1980s, this wedge-shaped tessellated Mactan stone coffee table exudes sculptural grandeur with textured sophistication. The top is triangular glass, clear and generously sized, supported over a tessellated stone pedestal made from Mactan stone (white coral quarried in the Philippines). The stone has organically marbled earth-tone veins, pale creamy undertones, with fractured or exposed coral facets on curved surfaces creating texture and visual weight. These fractured façade edges not only catch light and shadow but give the base a sense of force and material presence. Though it looks monumental, the stone is lighter than expected—easy to move for a piece of this scale. Condition is outstanding: the stone base has no stains or chips; the glass top shows only very light surface scratches visible under close inspection. Finish and joinery are solid; edges and stone tessellation appear clean and well preserved. Decoratively, this table becomes a focal sculpture. It pairs beautifully with mid-century modern, Hollywood Regency, coastal, or eclectic interiors: warm woods, brass accents, neutral upholstery or richly textured fabrics. The glass top allows the stone to be admired from above; the wedge form introduces geometry and asymmetry that energize the space.
