Portuguese 19th century Rosewood and Gilt Metal coffee table
About the Item
An impressive and most handsome Portuguese 19th century Rosewood and Gilt Metal coffee table. This stunning rectangular table is raised by six toupie shaped feet leading to square blocks decorated with pierced Gilt Metal rosettes joined together by a turned stretcher. Six short turned legs support the apron which displays hand carved continuous horizontal waves on all four sides, and conceals four functional drawers with matching carved wave designs with simple keyhole escutcheons. The single panel Rosewood top is trimmed on the sides by a hand carved continuous wave border, and framed with solid Rosewood band of the same color.
