A stage 3 turbine from a Rolls Royce RB 80 "Conway" turbofan, circa 1960, custom mounted as a low table.
The turbine is 40 inches (102 cm) in diameter, and rotates in the aluminium table base.
Rolls Royce RB 80 turbofan engine from a Hadley Page Victor.
This Rolls Royce Conway jet engine formerly powered a Cold War era Royal Air Force Handley Page Victor B.2 V-bomber, which was linked with the early British atomic weapons programme and nuclear deterrent policies that developed in the aftermath of the Second World War.
