French Antique Wall Consoles w/Carved Garland Swags & Taj Mahal Quartz Tops
About the Item
A French pair of carved-wood wall mounted consoles, with their original painted finish and new marble tops, from the early 20th century. This antique pair of console wall brackets from France have demi-shaped tops (a new addition of custom made Taj Mahal Quartz Marble), over a rounded apron which is adorn with a gilt leaves and rosettes. Skirting is comprised of three-dimensionally carved gilt floral garlands, which are swagged between the carved volute scrolls where the legs meet the underside of the top edge, with each volute being carved with gilt acanthus sheaths. The three legs continue towards the backside and come together at the wall as a single leg/brace support, embellished with gilt acanthus leaves and chandelles. The original base color consists of a taupe/grey, with gold gilt accents. Please note that the tables are made to be wall-mounted for security, and can be mounted so in varying or adjustable heights, depending on your design needs. These early 20th century French wall consoles with floral garland swags and Taj Mahal quartz marble tops, have a nice shallow depth just shy of 12 inches, making them perfectly sized for petite drinks or display tables.

A French pair of carved and painted wood console tables. These vintage tables from France each have a slightly overhanging rectangular-shaped top, with molded edging, over scalloped aprons which are embellished with a carved shell flanked within scrolling foliate accents (at center of one long-side of table skirt). The scalloped shirting at either short end of the tables are edged in delicate leafy-scroll carvings, while backsides are scalloped but plain (best for placement against a wall). French Neoclassical Exquisitely Carved Wall Console w/Green Marble Top
Located in Atlanta, GA
A French Neoclassical carved-wood console with marble top, from the 19th century. This antique table from France has an oblong demi-shaped (half-round) marble top with flattened backside, and a pair of shallow rectangular projections at either front corner to emphasize the legs below. It rests upon an elaborately carved wood frame with apron adorn in fluted and lambs tongue trimmings. A gorgeous pierce-carved floral garland is swagged about the front and gathers into a loop at front/center with bow-tied carvings. The two legs have robust volute carvings at underside of the top, are carved in similar fashion to the trim on the apron, and curve inwardly towards the underside of the table and terminate into nicely carved round feet. The legs are braced at their box and rose carved ankles with an oval-shaped platform base, carved with acanthus leaf accents and supporting a large three dimensionally-carved two-handle urn with acorn finial top.
