Tides Console Table in Customizable Woods and Bronze Glass by Gregory Beson
About the Item
The base of the tides console is a motif hand carved in solid wood (cypress pictured). The choice to carve by hand and without the assistance of computer-guided technology renders a unique numbered piece with each commission. The motif responds to the specific grain patterns of the timber while also being a uniquely intuitive process of memory and feeling to arrive at the proper form and movement of the carvings.
The Tides series is very personal to the designer, derived from a lifetime of walking coastlines and adoration of the sea.
The bronze glass top is handcut from a handmade template.
Custom wood species and top materials can be accommodated with consultation. Specific patterns from a client's home beach can also be incorporated into the base of the piece.
