About the Item

Originally used in a butcher's shop, this French iron dining table features a pair of bronze wild boar heads at each end. The iron base is made up of three scrolling legs with two iron supports joining them together. The bronze boar heads and bronze medallions detail the intersections between the stretcher and legs. Originally this piece would have had a wooden or marble top. However at some point in its history the top was replaced with a glass top. The 71 inch long by 39.5 inch wide glass top features an etched border allowing for the base to be viewed from above. This stunning table could serve for both indoor and outdoor dining. Seats six. c. 1900.
