About the Item

A magnificent original hand painted late 18th / early 19th century Italian refectory table. Italy, circa 1800, this one of a kind masterpiece executed in a rare and most impressive monumental scale, softened by a simplistic light and airy silhouette, featuring a massive nearly 10' x 4' framed four board plank top, such a width is extraordinarily rare for tables of this period which are normally narrow, one can only imagine the palatial Italian villa, castle, or grand hall where nobility once sat at this table. Decorated in opulent medieval Renaissance period taste, raised on sculptural supports, the solid wood table retains the original gessod polychromed finish, now with beautifully aged distressed mellow chippy paint patina, this spectacular example is sure to add elegant rustic warmth, depth, sophistication, and rich old world historical interest to any space while becoming the focal point of any home! Antique Swiss Country Pay Table
Located in Forney, TX
An early European oak pay table with beautiful, rich, rustic, elegantly aged patina. Born in Switzerland in the 18th century, likely in the Swiss Alps near the French border, hand-crafted of high-quality solid oak, the Baroque period table is in exceptional shape, very strong and sturdy, excellent craftsmanship, quality and detailing throughout.
