About

France Cherry tree, chestnut 19th century, Louis-Philippe, circa 1850 Dimensions: H x W x L: 77 cm x 95 cm x 190 cm (+ 2 x 80 cm) French country house or farmhouse table from Normandy. Turned legs with multiple profiles in solid cherrywood. Straight sides, mortised into the legs and fixed with wooden dowels. On one side of the table there is a drawer, on the other side a small, lowered pull-out, so called bread-slide, which can be used to put down a bread basket, flower vase, wine cooler or similar. Two pull-outs made of cherry and chestnut wood extend the table by 80 centimeters each. Beautiful patina! Worth knowing: This table is absolutely versatile. When pushed together, it offers comfortable space for 6-8 people. When extended, 12 people can be seated. The table is well suited for families with children because the oiled surface is easy to clean and very robust against dirt and liquids. The material mix of cherry tree and chestnut looks noble and rustic at the same time. The beautiful, naturally grown patina of the wood brings cosiness and warmth into your dining area. Condition: Restored ready for daily use, cracks in the wood are professionally closed, the surface is oiled and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The wonderful patina could be completely preserved. Absolutely authentic piece of history. Comparable objects can be found in the literature: Renate Möller - Möbel von Barock bis Gegenwart S. 92.
