Near mint, antique Arts & Crafts chess table with a warm patina. This striking chess table is another one of our recent, great finds. Not only is this a rare antique table, the handcrafted and embossed chess pieces in the table top also makes it a timeless and worldly work of art. This beautifully designed, solid oak chess table comes with a drawer that is specially made for two sets of chess pieces (see image 4 and 5). The extra tier that was created for the drawer partially is the reason why this table still is as strong and stabile as the day it was handcrafted. This extra tier, by the way, can also be used for displaying a small work of art. The embossed brass table top is of a style, class and beauty that you just don't find anymore in this day and age. Apart from a few minor dents in the brass outside rim, this table could hardly be in better condition. The patina of both the tiger oak and the antique brass has made this antique chess table even more beautiful than when it left the artisan's studio over one hundred years ago.
