Edwardian Rosewood Envelope Table
About the Item
The furniture that is recognized as Edwardian first appeared about 20 years before King Edward VII, for which it is named, ruled England. Characterized by a light and refined elegance, this sleek style featured delicate lines and intricate inlay, and often incorporated classical elements such as swags and urns, bright colors and lightweight fabrics. The first pieces crafted in this style, such as this impeccable table, were of the very best quality. However, it wasn't until the reign of the illustrious Edward VII that this style became popular, and hence was forever associated with this glamorous period.
