Italian Lacquered Bamboo Marquetry Side Table, 'circa 1970s'
About the Item
Italian lacquered bamboo marquetry side table (circa 1970s). An absolute charmer and an icon of the era. The marquetry work is beautifully patterned in a bamboo motif. There is a brass layer in between the two horizontals of the table. The four legs are also supported by metal verticals for extra strength. Overall the piece is in fair condition with several scuffs, nicks and marks commensurate with age. There is some question about the maker - several dealers attribute the piece to Dal Vera and others to Tommaso Barbi. Whatever the case, they are both fine producers of Italian furniture of the 1970s. Please enjoy the many photos for details. Upon request a video of the table will be provided.
