A' Design Award Bronze - Furniture 2023
A tribute to the work The Moon (1928) by Tarsila do Amaral, purchased by MoMA in New York in 2019, which established the Brazilian artist as one of the most important and timeless international modern painters.
The landscape that extends over a night of waning moon is delicately represented through a poetic detail, a small brass sculpture. The elements of the landscape are represented with soft volumes and smooth contours, evoking an enchanted and surreal world of the artist.
The piece was selected by the curators of the Luxembourg Museum in Paris for the exhibition “Tarsila do Amaral Pender Le Brasil Moderne”, which was on show from October 9, 24 to February 2, 25.
