About the Item
A' Design Award Bronze - Furniture 2023
This piece is a tribute of the work "A Lua" (1928), by Tarsila do Amaral, who played a key role in the emergence of Brazil’s modernism movement, with her unmistakable signature, and its vivid colors and rounded shapes. The painting was purchased by MoMA in New York in 2019, established the Brazilian artist in the scene of the most relevant and eternalized international modern painters. The intention was to recreate its soul, bringing through shapes and colors harmony, through a fluid and organic design.
The landscape that stretches against a waning moonlit night is delicately embodied in a small brass sculpture on our side table. Its base structure alludes to the solitary cactus. The top with the edge detail repeats the rounded shapes of the landscape, and the use of colors follows the essence of the work, with its fluid and organic design.
