About the Item
A' Design Award Bronze - Furniture 2024
A poetic and structural link with Tarsila do Amaral's “São Paulo”, by reinterpreting the formal and chromatic codes that mark the artist's universe. A central figure in Brazilian modernism, the artist created an original and evocative body of work based on the popular and modern imagination of a country in full transformation.
Its structure evokes the geometric and almost architectural arrangements present in the painting - such as industrial buildings, chimneys, silos and urban elements that Tarsila synthesizes with a lyrical and vibrant language. The palette of the piece dialogues directly with the artist's characteristic colors, such as “Tarsila blue” and earthy tones, translating the chromatic atmosphere of the work into three-dimensional matter. The top with gently rounded corners reinforces the lightness and fluidity of the whole, contrasting with the rigidity of the urban structure.
More than a direct visual reference, this table is a sensitive translation of the ambience and poetics present in “São Paulo”: a balance between construction and lyricism, between function and affection, between art and design.
