Unusual Early 19th Century Welsh Pub Table

About the Item

Unusual early 19th century oak pub table from Wales. This table is so charming! It was acquired from a pub in Wales, and was made to use as a drinks table for people to stand around in a wonderful pub setting. The top is made from 3 boards, and is surrounded by a gallery. The gallery of the barrel terminates on the outside of the table is a lovely scalloped apron. The base is made of staves, like a barrel, but is concave instead of cover like a barrel. The staves are shaped and banded with brass straps. This table is very folky and yet elegant. What an interesting piece for any place in the home or office!
