Japanese Antique Large Low Table / Sofa Table Coffee Table /1868-1912s Wabi-sabi

About the Item

This is an old Japanese low table. Pine is used for the top plate, and cedar is used for the legs. You can see that it was assembled without the use of nails and was made by very skilled craftsmen of the time. The natural color of the top plate has changed over time, such as scratches, and has changed to a quaint beauty that cannot be expressed with paint. I think the back was originally black, but the paint peels off naturally with aging, and it has an artistic texture. The legs are black and have a matte texture like soot. The simple structure of the thin legs can create a beautiful silhouette in the space. The top plate can also be used widely, so it is recommended for sofa tables, etc. Weight: 11.7kg
