About the Item

A darling and charming Jeff Koons limited edition Puppy plate or platter, by Porzellanfabrik Langenthal AG for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 1992. Signed and numbered. The image on this plate is taken from Jeff Koon's now iconic massive floral installation in the shape of a terrier puppy. The sculpture was created for for Documents IX and installed at Arolsen Castle, Arolsen, Germany in 1992. The sculpture now resides in the permanent collection of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. The porcelain platter was produced as a limited edition of 125 pieces (plus 25 piece with roman numerals) by Porzellanfabrik Lagenthal AG, Switzerland, for the San Francisco Museum of Modern art in 1992. This particular plate has a low edition number, 6/125. Signed and dated '92 in blue. The rim gilt. The foot rim with two holes for hanging.
