Holleman is a prolific artist with a storied career spanning the better part of the 20th century and into the 21st. During his time serving with the US Army in Berlin, he became influenced by German Expressionist painter Carl Hofer. Once Holleman returned to the US he turned to ceramics as his primary medium.
