18th Century Carved Limewood Wall Panel

About the Item

A fascinating and skilfully detailed late 18th century carved limewood wall panel, circa 1780. Once part of a panelled interior, this carving was later removed and adapted into a wall hanging. The original carving is set onto a pine panel and sits within a gilded frame, making a striking piece of wall art for the 21st century interior. Beautifully carved, the limewood captures a flaming torch or flambeau among oak leaves, acorns and foliage alongside a quiver of arrows.
