WOW, look at these Magnificent, Marvelous Mosaics!! This is a fantastic pair of framed gravel art figural mosaics ready to grace your home with their Mid-Century Modern awesomeness!!! Gravel art was at its peak in the 1960s. They were created with a variety of items such as crushed glass and chips of marble, sequins, glitter, beads, acrylic gems, aquarium rocks, or plastic pieces. According to Kymm Bang, Gravel Art 101, images were commonly outlined with cording and then filled in with the “gravels.” An artist named Jane Gaylor adapted the concept which was similar to the “paint by number,” which was invented by Dan Robbins in the 1950s for Craft Master. These fabulous pieces consist of the most intricately placed, gorgeous gravel with black corded outline. One panel has two lovely ladies in colorful dresses that appear to have just gathered water from the stream outside the village and the other panel displays two men wearing turbans, one playing a Horn, and both enjoying some leisure time. Can’t you just hear the soft tones of the instrument beautifully blowing in the breeze? We can! And although you may think the musician is upset per his not-so-inconspicuous finger gesture… not to worry! He is just hitting the perfect pitch of the note, plus his pinky is properly out, so he gets a pass! LOL!!! Come on, that’s funny! Both panels have gray to off-white backgrounds (one a bit lighter than the other) and the figures exude striking colors of turquoise, brown, orange, black, and yellow. This is a double delightful pair of framed gravel art, and they radiate Mid-Century Modern magnificence, AND they will look fabulous on any wall in your home! Surely you love them as much as we do… then why wait? Make them YOURS!!! 4 Mid-20th Century Asian Cast Bronze Figures on Black Wood Plaques Signed Gansu
Located in Topeka, KS
Marvelous vintage Asian plaques of cast bronze figures mounted on black painted plywood backgrounds signed Gansu, set of 4. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, each plaque background has had a fresh coat of black paint however, they still have nicks, dings, and chiggers appropriate with age. We added new hangers, and the bronze figures retain their original patinated finish. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century. If you are a lover of arts and culture, we have the perfect plaques for you!! We have four marvelous cast bronze Asian figures articulating extraordinary expressions of what we believe to be visual arts, culinary arts, musical arts, and performance arts. Each cast bronze figure is mounted upon a rectangular freshly painted black plywood base plaque, each bearing differing patina or signs appropriate with age such as nicks or dings that we feel only enhance the beauty of their presence. As a matter of fact, this particular set of four was among my mother’s personal collection for many years, so it holds a special place in my heart for sure!! In our research we discovered that Gansu is a province in north-central China. Its city Jiayuguan is best known for the magnificent Great Wall. Awesome!! Each cast bronze figure exudes their own form of art, celebrating life and all of the beauty that comes with it. One holds a serving tray with a couple of glasses and a carafe… in my world there is probably a delicious red wine inside that carafe just waiting to pass through my lips!! Whatever it may be, it must be something lovely, delicious, and a bit mysterious! Another figure embraces an incredible sculpture that drapes from the tip of her shoulder, under her arm, and secretly swoops behind her. Behold… a vision of loveliness left to your imagination … a puzzling and optically pleasing piece of artistry. While another figure proudly plays a flute, twinkling their fingers across the keys… filling the air with joyful notes & sounds that tickle your ears… But let’s not leave out the last figure dancing blissfully to the beat… skipping and shuffling her bare feet in the sand. And did you notice everyone is dressed to the T’s!! Gorgeous cloaks, gowns, Hanfu, headdresses, obis, wraps, and jewels!! What a PARTY...

Modern Geometric Mixed Metal Dimensional Wall Sculptures by C Jere Series of 4
By C. Jeré Artisan House
Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous modern series of four geometrical dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere, unsigned but easily documented online. Comprised of steel, brass, and copper. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are scratches on all 4 sculptures, a ding on one, and we have replaced 2 triangular bent metal pieces. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, late 20th – early 21st century. Oh yeah… it’s hip to be square!! And in this case, that is definitely true!! This is an awesome series of four-square dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere displaying various unique and abstract geometric designs comprised of steel, brass, and copper arranged in the center of each metal square. C. Jere (a.k.a.) Curtis Jere is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. This series of four is a MUST have for any wall that needs a bold statement piece, touch of Modern style, or simply an intriguing, phenomenal piece of artwork! Position them to your preference and change any wall from being bland, to BOOM! They would be wonderful side by side in a row of four however, I envision them stacked one on top of the other in a large square. Maybe over a fireplace, on a wall in a tall entry way, or on a primary wall in your living room. If you’ve been looking for the right touch of Modern or Industrial edge to welcome into your home… you just found it! Artisan House artists included founders Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels and Curtis Jere is a combination of their names. Before founding Artisan House these two friends and brothers-in-law had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry. During the mid-20th century, the C. Jere sculptures, and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in mid century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11...
