An exquisite 19th century Italian wall hanging featuring intricate hand-carved shell and scroll motifs, accentuated with original gilt and polychrome decoration. This decorative panel is a superb example of Italian craftsmanship from the 19th Century, blending Baroque and Rococo revival elements with a light, painterly touch. The elegant shell form sits at the top of a swirling composition of acanthus leaves, volutes, and floral flourishes, all richly gilded and softened by time-worn paint in subtle tones of gray. The piece is carved from wood and retains its original surface, offering a timeworn, authentic patina that enhances its antique character.
