About the Item
A beautiful pottery tile wall hanging by the studio of Konrad Galaaen, Norway. Geometric fired tiles contrasting in finish from a matte to glossy glazes. Twenty four tiles in total. The smaller square tiles pop with highly saturated orange and red glazes. Each tile is outlined in black and all are impressed or concave. Circa 1950-1960.
Good overall condition with minor cosmetic wear due to age. Oxidation to the wood backing. Some minor chips and rough spots along the edges of the outer tiles. Some minor tight crazing and checking of the glaze. Structurally sound and sturdy. Backed and hung from a heavy duty piece of plywood.
The wall hanging measures approximately 29.75" wide x 17.88" high x 1.25" deep.
