From Japan, a large hand-painted Nippon porcelain cabinet or wall plate showing roses and gilded accents, circa 1900.
Nippon porcelain was made in Japan from 1891 to 1921. Nippon is the Japanese word for “Japan.” Nippon porcelain was made to be exported to the west, with designs specifically for American tastes.
Sprays of brightly colored pink and purple roses with their green leaves are strewn within a geometric gold pattern accented with the raised Moriage technique.
