About the Item

Royal House Antiques We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning very unique orignal Ada Neville-Rolfe 1912 dated Triptych picture made with a flamed Mahogany frame with gold tipped board section off in to three leather embossed panels depicting fruit trees Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide and covers London for the UK and local Europe for the rest of the world, if you are outside of this area, please as for a delivery quote before you purchase I've never seen another like this before, it is full of Art Nouveau charm and charisma, the main artwork is all reverse embossed leather which has been hand painted, there is an inscription to the top which is tricky to read, its in old Latin, to the back is a paper label dating the piece and stating where it was made, again its tricky to read as the ink has faded, what I think it says is as follows Property of A Neville Rolfe, The panel by Ada Neville Rolfe Heacham Norfolk Framed by Sanchinghaim workshops 1912 The panels as mentioned was made by Ada Neville Rolfe who is was niece to the great Harriet Jane Neville-Rolfe the painter Harriet Jane painted a few views of her homes and drew charcoal sketches of the Heacham servants. She did mural decorations in some family houses and, with her niece Ada, some ornamental work in the Heacham brickyard in the late 1890s. She organised 'creations’ for the first Heacham Carnival in 1900 and for the Sedgeford Summer Carnivals of 1905 (the first) and 1907-09 such as Ye Ancient Fayre and Pocahontas . In old age she is said to have decorated title pages of books for young family members. She died at Sedgeford Hall on 11 October 1928. In 1964 Clement Ingleby presented 84 of her Queensland watercolours to the Queensland Art Gallery. Others remain in private collection. Dimensions Height:- 92cm Width:- 132cm Depth:- 4cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask.
