"Yellow & Green Parrot in Bird Cage", Mid Century Enamel on Copper Panel, 1950s
About the Item
Sophisticated and charming both, this enamel-on-copper panel shows a green and yellow parrot happily perched in a Mid Century wire birdcage, its sides curving and its top embellished with Baroque-inspired curves. The scene is framed by hanging plants to either side, and the artist has used a fresh palette of lime green and canary yellow against a white ground. The piece is not signed, but it was clearly made by a skilled artist with an appreciative view of domestic life in the 1950s.
