18th Century Pastel of a Young boy

About the Item

This is a wonderful mid-to-late 18th century portrait of a young boy dressed in a blue coat with a tricorn hat under his left arm. The innocence of this beautiful boy draws you into the portrait. The portrait retains it's simple 18th century The quality of the depiction makes the portrait eligible to assume pride of place in any room. The piece is in overall good condition, with a bit of yellowing and a bit of spotting.

The putti is well-framed in a French a gold leafed neoclassical-style. Considering the quality of this painting, and although not signed, the painting was most probably painted by a recognized Italian 18th century artist.
