AMBIANIC presents a surrealist oil in cavas painting by Sofía Bassi. Art Painting El Coil
Mexican Surrealist period. Painting is signed in the lower left section and it has the initials ELC which stands for: " EN LA CARCEL" (while on prison) 1968.
Sofia Bassi came from an aristocratic family in Mexico. While living in Acapulco, she was accused and incarcerated of the murder of her son in law Duke Cesare de Acquarone. While she was incarcerated, she continue to paint. This is one of her pieces which if you look closely, you will can perceive her emotions in this beautiful art piece.
