Framed Watercolor Depicting a Pair of Fish
About the Item
Thierry Despont, best-known for his very successful architectural practice, was also an accomplished artist. As a painter (and sculptor) he frequently took for subjects the smallest, strangest creatures he encountered in nature. In much of his work, he augmented reality with his uniquely imaginative flights, accentuating the most unusual elements, or executed his pieces with incongruous materials. His paintings of fish, by contrast, are rendered with an almost rigorous exactitude & anatomical accuracy.
