This 18th-century oil on canvas is attributed to the painter Francesco Solimena, whose works are characterized by delicate modeling, soft flesh tones, and a refined use of chiaroscuro, all elements present in this composition. The scene depicts Saint Agnes, a martyr of early Christianity, easily recognizable by the lamb she holds in her arms, a symbol of purity, innocence, and sacrifice.
