A very large antiqued reproduction oil painting after Rosa Bonheur. Apty titled"La fenaison en Auvergne / Haymaking in Auvergne" features an antiqued canvas. The canvas is signed along the lower right "M L" Frame: 95 cm (37.4 inches) x 76 cm (29.92 inches) Canvas: 73 cm (28.74 inches) x 54 cm (21.26 inches) Rosa Bonheur (born Marie-Rosalie Bonheur; March 16, 1822 – May 25, 1899) was a renowned French artist celebrated for her animal paintings. She also created sculptures in a realistic style. Her most notable works include "Ploughing in the Nivernais," first showcased at the Paris Salon in 1848 and now housed in the Musée d'Orsay, and "The Horse Fair," exhibited at the Salon of 1853 and currently displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Bonheur was widely regarded as the most famous female painter of the 19th century.
