A colorful, impressionist oil painting depicting a lush green landscape with buildings and trees with bold brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette. It is enclosed within a framce crafted from wood. Created by Kurt Phillipsen in the late 20th century. The artist's signature is displayed on the front, while a paper label containing a description is attached on the back. The painting shows the place “Im Winkl” in Leonberg near Stuttgart, Germany.
Impressionism emerged in the second half of the 19th century and was particularly influential in painting. Impressionism originated in France, where visionary artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas and Camille Pissarro broke new ground in depicting their impressions of the world. The central concern of the Impressionists was to capture the fleeting moment, the play of light and the atmosphere of an instant - the focus was no longer on the exact representation of reality, but on subjective perception. Typical of Impressionist paintings are bright colors, visible brushstrokes and painting outdoors in order to capture natural light conditions as directly as possible.
