About the Item
Small original vintage oil on plate painting of a dramatic sunset or twilight sky kept in shades of red and purple with a strong orange line. Trees and bushes appear as dark shades, and a small house or hut with a triangular roof is seen. A lone cow appears in the foreground.
The style of the painting is impressionist. The contrast between the dark foreground and the warm orange in the horizon gives a pleasurable atmosphere typical of the romantic representation of a rural landscape.
The painting is unsigned and in good vintage condition with wear due to age and small cracks in paint (please see the photos). One larger mark in the paintwork. It is framed in a gold painted wooden frame.
