Mid Century Modern Framed Portrait Painting of a Woman in Blue and Pink

About the Item

A mid-century modern portrait painting of a woman on blue silk. This portrait is professionally framed in a rectangular wood frame with gilt gold detail. The painting is of a woman in a pink button-up top with short blond hair on a blue background. She has piercing blue eyes and a soft pink lip. The painting is matted in cream. This piece has not been examined outside the frame. However, it seems to be hand-painted on silk. This would be a fabulous piece to add to a portrait painting gallery wall, or alone in a powder bath or hallway. It could easily be reframed to fit into any aesthetic. The piece is unsigned from what we can tell. However, it might feature a signature under the matte. The back has a gold sticker that says, "Fergusons' Paint & Decorating, 5118 North May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112". At the top of the back is a metal hanging bracket for easy installation. Located in Oklahoma City, OK
Sourced from the estate of the late Oklahoma artist Clair Seglam. An airforce man for most of his life, Seglem only began painting after his retirement. Most known for his vibrant portraits and nudes, he completed a vast portfolio of work before he died in 2020. This piece is part of a collection that was found in one of his old sketchbooks. It was hidden away in our warehouse when we happened upon it during inventory one day. To our surprise, the notebook held a jewel box of unseen work. This piece is on a half sheet of watercolor paper. The sheet combines two paintings, one of which seems to be a first draft of this piece.
