About the Item
Vintage portrait of a young boy wearing a striped red shirt with blue argyle sweater. Oil on canvas painting by artist Robert Rukavina (1914-1977), who lived in the United States and is known for his realist figure and portrait artwork. There is a nostalgic quality to this painting which beautifully captures the melancholic features of the boy's face. The well executed detail of a colorful wardrobe against a muted background of washed-out colors in hues of green and brown, also adds to it's beauty. The custom frame is made of reclaimed wood with a distressed finish and floating frame design. Signed R. Rukavina on the upper left hand corner. Rukavina's work has been featured in numerous fine art galleries, museum exhibits, and at various auctions.
