About the Item
Jai Piccone’s Atrium 24 is the product of a desire to create art in a more hands on approach. From a background of digital art and graphic design the shift to painting felt a necessary step in the evolution of Jai’s work. Acrylic on canvas, atrium 24 plays on the idea of an abstract interpretation of open air space comprised of 24 lines.
This piece is part of a series inspired by the uniqueness of our current situation, the excess time spent inside inspired experimentation with looking for inspiration in what many generally see as standard and mundane. The lines, light and design of where we live, fused with imagined spaces. The series was inspired after a move from Australia to Amsterdam in the midst of the Covid - 19 crisis, Jai wanted art and colour for his new home but, unable to afford the pieces he liked, endeavoured to paint them himself.
The piece bounces between and is inspired by Modernism and Surrealism while paying homage to his background of designing cover art for musicians and bands. The piece and series focuses on the bold use of colour, clean lines and a continuous concept of hopeful utopian living.

About the artist:
Cecilia’s is working with all geometrical forms, lines and shadows.
Her style developed to be clean and sharp forms in different combinations.
Often they are in juxtaposition to create a three dimensional effect.
Since two decades she has only painted in acrylic on canvas.
Her art characteristics are uniform geometrical shapes with pristine borders,
often in bold colours.
Born in Sweden in 1954, Cecilia Setterdahl has always been painting from Swedish
inspiration. Studied ascetics in High School and then went on to the Technical University of Lulea and graduated as a teacher. Moved to Stockholm and studied at the “Konstskolan” First exhibition 1988. Through a move to Neuchatel, Switzerland Cecilia continued her studies at the M-Art and Accademie Maximilien de Meuron. “Art Studio Bv5”, together with 4 other artists, she continued to work until moving to Dubai in 2015. Several part exhibitions in Neuchatel, Lausanne, Geneva, Brussels, London, New York, Hong Kong and Sweden.
In the United Arab Emirates she has exhibited both acrylic paintings and hand- made carpets at Downtown Design Dubai which is held yearly in Oct or Nov.
