Niels Grønbech (1907-1991), Danish painter. Oil on board. Modernist landscape. Vordingborg. Dated 1974. The board measures: 34 x 29 cm. The frame measures: 3.5 cm. In excellent condition. Signed and dated. Price example: A painting by NG sold March 25, 2015 for $8551. Grønbech was a student of Aksel Jørgensen at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1924 to 1930. He developed his expression early on, characterized by a strong sense of space, and often revolved around the same motifs, e.g. lonely existences in isolated spaces, but also locations in Copenhagen, especially the area around Frederiksberg Castle. Grønbech, who received the Eckersberg Medal in 1942, exhibited from 1945 as a member of Corner.
