About the Item

The silent seduction of "The Mysterious" The Mysterious is a painting on copper-oil and enamel-signed by Alessandro La Motta, an artist featured at the 54th Venice Biennale. From the very first glance, the work captures the viewer with an enigmatic face, suspended between light and shadow. The 50 × 40 cm copper (74 × 60 cm with frame) reflects metallic gleams that, therefore, amplify the intense tones of blue and oxidized copper, while the veil of enamel enhances, in addition, the depth of the looks. Refined technique on noble support The combination of oil and enamel on copper is rare; in fact, the polished surface enhances the pigments as it allows very subtle color transitions. Motta works in successive glazes; thus, the skin seems vibrant, and the contours, however, remain sharp. This technical choice requires great expertise: the slightest mistake, therefore, would be irreversible. The end result, in fact, is a face that lives on reflections and, again, changes as the light changes, offering the viewer new emotions, although the gaze remains still. Alessandro La Motta: research and recognition La Motta has been investigating Mediterranean myth for years; while he looks to classicism, he introduces contemporary elements. Participation in the Biennial certifies a solid critical path and, likewise, a growing international market. To collect The Mysterious is, therefore, to possess an important piece of this narrative: a work that, still, dialogues with memory but, in parallel, with the present. Furnishing versatility and investment opportunities The small size makes the picture ideal for modern or classic interiors. It can be placed over consoles, bookcases, or in corporate environments that, therefore, desire a cultural accent. Despite the expressive force, the palette remains elegant; therefore, the canvas does not overpower the furniture, but complements it. In addition, the rarity of the copper medium and the signature of an already institutionalized artist constitute a value that is bound, consequently, to increase. Impeccable state of preservation The work is in excellent overall condition: no abrasions, stable paint film, contemporary burnished wood frame. Finally, the protection on the back provides insulation from moisture and dust, although copper is already a durable material.
