Framed oil on board by the New Zealand artist Shay Docking (1928-2000) entitled 'The Burnt Paddock'. Signed and dated Shay Docking 61 lower right and titled 'The Burnt Paddock.' This vibrant abstract painting depicts the beauty of vibrant fields of corn or wheat and evokes the sights and smells of summertime.
Docking was a well known an respected landscape painter, most of her work was inspired by the landscape of Victoria, Australia and volcanoes of New Zealand. Examples of Dockings work are displayed at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, The National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
