About the Item
Oil on panel by Teodoro Wolf ferrari executed in 1934 measuring 23.5x16 cm.
The most investigated theme is landscape. The motionless, rarefied atmospheres, accompanied by the play of doubles, characterized by the precise, broadly sampled brushstrokes of the early period that runs through the second decade of the 1900s, take Wolf Ferrari to the limit of painterly decorativism. It is a completely different painting and absolutely far from the Venetian "secessionist" trials, certainly more intimist and played all on the emotional perception of some themes sincerely dear to him. He exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1912, '14, '20 and '38.
The back features an inscription, "the Grappa and the Boccaor. Morning August 1934." Signed in lower left hand corner. The state of preservation is good. Features a non-coeval frame measuring 33x26x3.5 cm.
