About the Item

Innocenti was one of the most successful artists in early twentieth-century Italy, thanks to his modern, elegant, and internationally focused painting. Having trained under the wing of some of the most influential masters of the 19th century-such as Antonio Mancini, Domenico Morelli and Francesco Paolo Michetti-the Roman painter came to the attention of critics as early as the first editions of the Venice Biennale. One of the first solo exhibitions organized as part of the Venetian review is linked to his name: in 1909, in fact, Innocenti had a room entirely dedicated to him at the Biennale, where twenty of the most significant canvases executed up to that time were exhibited. this painting in particular fully manifests the painter's elegance through this quiet and delicate intimate scene a and thanks to the use of pastel colors.
